Soybeans

Approximately 10.75 million acres of soybeans were planted in Illinois in 1999. Generally, soybean insect pest problems in the Midwest Region are less severe than in the other two regions. However, the large acreages of soybeans grown in the Midwest can result in even minor pests having serious economic impact.
